Band

Furniture Girls is an electro rock band from Seattle. We’ve been playing to packed clubs at home and across the U.S. since 2007, growing a legion of fans who are hungry for something dynamic and different.

In that time, we’ve been a mainstay on Seattle’s music scene, having been the hand-picked local support band for national touring artists like Linda Perry, Presidents of the United States of America, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Sky Cries Mary, Super Sonic Soul Pimps, Vintage Trouble, Van Hunt, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel and My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, and shared the stage with countless musical guests including the legendary Dr. Fink (of Prince and the Revolution), guitarist Michael Cozzi (of Sky Cries Mary) and soul singer Darrius Willrich.

stayC Moore

Seasoned veteran stayC has been a force in the Seattle music scene since the mid 1990’s. Eight bands and over 20 years’ worth of industrial, electronic and rock shows later (not to mention the occasional piano bar cameo to croon with local legends Howard Bulson and Monty Banks), Meyer then became one with – and one of – Furniture Girls.

Her affinity for all things musical gives stayC a wealth of influences to draw from and she pours it all into her truly unique vocals and theatrical performances. When stayC hits the stage, you’ll KNOW it.

Jason Lightfoot

Jason plays guitar. Well. Since joining the band in 2010, Jason has helped lay the final bricks in Furniture Girls’ wall of sound. Having accompanied stayC in a handful of pre-FG music projects (as well as a few “joint ventures” like the Shawna Locey Band and Hooker Farm), Jason’s been playing with members of Furniture Girls in one way or another for over a decade.

Thane Mitchell

Since the age of 15, when he began playing drums and percussion, Thane has been all over the music scene, both locally and nationally. He’s shared the stage and the studio with members of Digable Planets, The Brand New Heavies, Pearl Jam, Heart, Green Apple Quickstep, Alien Crime Syndicate, Grant Lee Buffalo, ADD, Supersuckers and even the Seattle Symphony.

Always hard at work (at times with nearly a dozen different bands), Thane’s musical creativity has reached new heights with Furniture Girls — and he’s just getting started.

Jim Watkins

Jim taught himself how to play saxophone, then drums, then keys, then guitar and then bass… all before his 14th birthday. But from his big-band jazz-influenced formative years to his stints with R&B units The Groove Syndicate and Last Drop, to his session work and appearances with singer/songwriter Camille Bloom & The Recovery, Jim’s always had a talent for finding great musicians making great music.

Having found his true calling (as a bassist and producer), Jim provides the funky foundation for Furniture Girls’ music.

FG Alumni

Kate Bradley (2013–2022)

Kate joined us in 2013 with a musical background that is nothing if not diverse. Throughout the course of almost a decade with fG, she developed a land of merriment and wonder we called, “Kateland”.

Kateland was a magical, musical realm where Kate played guitar, keys, trumpet and, of course, added powerful vocals. Kate accompanied us to SxSW in Austin, TX, on a West Coast tour, and hundreds of gigs all over the Pacific Northwest.

As it sometimes does, life pulled Kate in a different direction and we were sad to see her go. But we have no doubt we will see Kate again. Just try to keep that woman down. Keep a weather eye on the horizon because you will likely spot Kate guesting with local bands or in her newest project, Mother Anarchy. The possibilities are limitless for this creative lady!

We love you, Kate!

Bubba Jones (2007–2013)

Bubba Jones joined Furniture Girls (the duo) around 2006 after having collaborated with Nikki Wolgamott on prior projects. Bubba was instrumental in producing and fleshing out existing songs written by Nikki and Stacey as well as solidifying the early fG sound by adding his own guitar magic and bringing on bassist Jim Watkins and drummer Thane Mitchell.

Bubba has always been an unstoppable force in the production world and has been expanding his gifts in composition where he now creates award winning scores for film and television!

Bubba is just getting started in this exciting transition and we expect to see big things from him in the future! Whatever you’re doin’, we’ll be watching, Bubbs!

Nikki Wolgamott (2007–2010)

Nicole “Nikki” Wolgamott was the founding member of Furniture Girls from its inception as a two-pieced synth group including Stacey Moore (then Meyer). It was around 2005 and Stacey was in the band Gracie Law & the Pork Chop Express (with Jason Lightfoot, who would later join fG). Nikki and Stacey, old high school friends, reunited when Nikki asked Stacey to collaborate on the project that had no name at the time. It was Roderick Romero (Nikki’s brother of famed Sky Cries Mary) who suggested the name “Furniture Girls”, which the sci-fi loving duo immediately adopted.

As the band grew and evolved into more of a rock sound, Nikki chose to pursue her passions in the synth realm and collaborates still with Seattle area musicians, including former fG allum Bubba Jones.

Nikki is a treasured piece of fG history, a trailblazer, a helluva beat-maker and dear friend we keep close tabs on to see what’s next for her unmistakable talents.
